The Daily Sludge: April 24, 2014
Initially it was a change in routine that led to the dwindling of The Daily Sludge—I changed jobs and no longer worked in an office with two French presses going at any given time... Gosh that was nice.
Then MY French press gave out. The mesh screen biffed it and when I ordered a new one I received the wrong size... Well, that is the kind of thing I get exhausted by. So I lived on coffee maker and airpot coffee for 7 months, and let The Daily Sludge go dormant.
Lo! Behold! Last week a fully operational (screen in tact) Pyrex French Press had arrived at Good Cheer just in time to make its way into my pretty little paws. (...or is that claws? )
Four months, some (three) weeks, and some (three) days after I set the intention to "bring back" The Daily Sludge (it was Nee Year's Day), here we are.
What do you see?
A refresher: I am of the belief that anyone, with the right amount of clarity and intention can perform their own readings. The Daily Sludge is meant to be an exercise in seeing into the messages we receive from our own subconscious, higher selves, and spirit guides.
If three people pull the same tarot card, the application of its energies will differ from individual to individual. The same is true in any reading. We all have our own specific relationships to symbols.
I will offer some of the symbols I see in today's scene without applying any personal meaning to them... mostly because I have found this day very challenging and am still considering the messages embedded in today's cup.
A Japanese master - martial arts? spirituality? calligraphy?
An Owl Spirit in flight - wisdom, intuition, navigating darkness - (perhaps the Japanese master is a moon deity?)
A house fly and a dragonfly, conjoined - rapid expansion, being present with emotion, gestation, change, change, change
Mother cow and calf - family, community, nourishment, caretaking, homemaking, protection
